Exercise helps prevent Migraine

According to Researchers and the American Headache society, regular moderate exercise is beneficial in preventing Headache and Migraine frequency in most sufferers. This is thought to be due to the effects of exercise in releasing endorphins (the body’s natural painkillers), reducing blood pressure and improving the body’s resilience and physiologic control.

It is essential howvever to gently warm up before exercise and ensure youve had a small meal 1-2 hours prior to commencing your workout. Adequate hydration is also essential before exercise.

There is no doubt that for some, exercise can be a trigger, so its important to follow the precautions above and consult your health expert if symptoms persist. Rapid onset of head pain during exercise should also be investigated, especially if its the first time.
